Riverside Horticulture led the way as one of the first nurseries in New Zealand and we’re pretty proud of our strong roots. Originally established as Ivory Nurseries, under Mr. William Ivory in 1855, Riverside has remained a tightknit family business. Today, Andrew Dartnall - a descendent of Mr. Ivory, and a seventh-generation horticulturist - keeps the illustrious family legacy growing for the good of New Zealand horticulture and environmental improvements in the field.
As Riverside has evolved so has our purpose. Simply put, the purpose of our existence is to grow the solution for NZ. We imagine a greener New Zealand, that’s why we are using the unreplaceable; generations of experience, decades of knowledge and a present passion for growing in NZ. Because we know that the natives, we plant today are the flourishing native forest for the generations yet to exist.
